A leitmotif originally written by John Williams and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra first appeared in the 1980 film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back in the track "Imperial Walkers." With the musical figure being played by a piano at low pitch, the leitmotif imitates the heavy stomping of the All Terrain Armored Transport during the Battle of Hoth. Episode V music containing the motif was later tracked into the score for 2019's Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, where the music is played during the Millennium Falcon's hyperspace skipping scene.

A rendition of the motif was composed by Chris Hülsbeck for the 1998 video game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. The motif plays throughout the track titled "Volcano Battle" in the game's Concert Hall feature, with the track being played during the Rogue Squadron Y-wing raid on Sullust.

The leitmotif is featured in the track "AT-ACT Assault" played in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a 2016 anthology film composed by Michael Giacchino. The motif is played during the Battle of Scarif, when the Empire's All Terrain Armored Cargo Transports appear on screen.
