"May the Force Be with You" is a music piece composed by John Williams for the soundtrack to the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back. Released in both piano[1] and orchestra arrangements, the latter as part of a medley, the piece features a rendition of "The Force Theme,"[2] the leitmotif for the Force. The melody of the piece is the same as that in the track "The Rebel Fleet / End Title,"[3] which is played during the final scene at Backup Rendezvous Point Gamma-Nine in The Empire Strikes Back, as Luke Skywalker receives his cybernetic hand from 2-1B.[4]
