Raid above Ghorman
A raid above Ghorman against an Imperial supply convoy by the Rebel Alliance occurred early in the Galactic Civil War, delaying the expansion of an Imperial base in the system.
Prelude
Early[3] in the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire was in the process of expanding a base on the planet Ghorman,[6] with a supply convoy of Imperial BFF-1 bulk freighters, Century 1, 2, and 3, carrying the necessary supplies.[2]
The raid
A Rebel Alliance strike force, composed of a BTL Y-wing starfighter[2] and a modified R-22 Spearhead starfighter[5] from Red Squadron, attacked the freighters, finding them in a rendezvous with an escort of two TIE/LN starfighters each from Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta Squadrons in the Ghorman system. The Y-wing pilot, using the call sign Red One, attacked the freighter convoy, while "Red Two" engaged the TIE escort in the R-22 Spearhead.[2]
Aftermath
Red Team's attack was a success, delaying the Ghorman base's expansion by a year.[2]
The engagement was later simulated as a training mission by the Rebel Alliance, intended to teach prospective Spearhead[5] pilots to escort and support Y-wings. Agamarian Rebel Keyan Farlander was assigned to the simulation by training officer Wex Dafid prior to Farlander's recruitment into the Alliance flagship Independence's Red Squadron.[4]
Behind the scenes
The battle first appeared in the 1993 video game Star Wars: X-Wing as the fourth A-wing historical mission, "Attack Run on Freighters."[2]
While X-Wing identifies the player's craft during this mission as an A-wing,[2] Jan Dodonna's entry in The New Essential Guide to Characters retcons appearances of the A-wing prior to the Battle of Yavin to be modified R-22 Spearheads.[5]

The Essential Atlas establishes that Organa's capture takes place on 35:3:3 under the Great ReSynchronization dating system, placing it at the beginning of 0 BBY according to the following explanation. Therefore, events occurring between the Alliance's establishment and Organa's capture must take place in 2 BBY at the earliest, and 1 BBY at the latest.
