Delta Squadron (TIE/LN)
Delta Squadron, also known as Delta Group, was an Imperial Navy TIE/LN starfighter squadron that fought during the Galactic Civil War.
History
In 3 ABY, it took part in the Battle of Science Station Youst in the Sepan system.
That year,[3] the squadron was led by Captain Milnn and served with Admiral Mils Giel's secret armada. On a reconnaissance patrol, Delta Group picked up a distress signal from a nearby planetoid. Unsure if the signal was Rebel or Imperial in origin, four of the squadron's TIE/LN starfighters approached to find the wreckage of an another TIE fighter, springing a Rebel trap.[2]
Alliance T-65 X-wing starfighters ambushed the squadron, killing Milnn's three subordinates and forcing the captain to eject from his starfighter before it was destroyed. Milnn was captured by Rebel pilots, including Commander Luke Skywalker and Captain Shira Brie, who, with the aid of the Wookiee Chewbacca, extracted entry codes to Giels' fleet from the TIE pilot.[2]
Using these codes, Skywalker impersonated Milnn as "Delta Leader", with his squadron of Rebel TIE pilots—Brie, Captain Hanc Thorben, and Alph—posing as Delta Group to infiltrate the secret armada.[2]
