Blatberry pie
- "In case you get hungry."
"Thanks." - ―Max Rebo giving Leia Organa a blatberry pie
Blatberry pie was a type of small pie edible by Humans and Ortolans.[1] In 4 ABY,[2] Ortolan musician Max Rebo kept several blatberry pies hidden behind his organ, which he played in the Tatooine palace of the Hutt crime lord Jabba. When Princess Leia Organa arrived disguised as the bounty hunter Boushh and was subsequently revealed to be the famous Human Rebel, Rebo noticed that she was skinny and looked malnourished. After a long party at the palace, in an attempt to fatten her up, Rebo took one of his blatberry pies and gave it to Organa, who thanked him.[1]
Behind the scenes
Blatberry pies appeared in "And the Band Played On: The Band's Tale," a short story written by John Gregory Betancourt and published in the Tales from Jabba's Palace story collection in 1995.[1]
