Acorvus
Acorvus, also known as Lazerian III, was the third planet in the Lazerian system, orbiting the yellow star Lazerian.[3] It was located within the Kira sector,[2] in the Trailing Sectors portion of the Expansion Region.[1] Along with the rest of the Lazerian system, Acorvus lay on the Harrin Trade Corridor and Kira Run hyperlanes.[3]
The planet's surface featured a barren desert, and the world had no moons. It had a Type II atmosphere,[3] in which the use of breath masks was suggested.[4] Acorvus was the closest neighbor to the planet Lazerian IV, and at one point it was surveyed by the inhabitants of that world. Eventually Acorvus came to serve as a penal colony and exile planet for political dissenters and criminals. The planet was off-limits to all non-authorized personnel.[3]
Behind the scenes
Acorvus was created by John Terra and introduced in Twin Stars of Kira, a 1993 supplement to West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. In the book, the planet's name was misspelled as "Acoruus" on one instance.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Lazerian system, and therefore Acorvus, in grid square N-15.[1]
