Warhawk (MC40a light cruiser)
The Warhawk was a Mon Calamari MC40a light cruiser owned and operated by the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.
History
The Warhawk participated in a mission to rescue defected Imperial forces on the Victory-class Star Destroyer Protector. The Warhawk engaged the loyalist Imperial interdictor Harpax, which was attacking the Protector. Although able to corner the interdictor with the assistance of one of the late Admiral Harkov's Nebulon-B frigates, Akaga, its starfighters were prevented from launching direct attacks against the interdictor.
Upon the arrival of Vader on the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Garrett, the Warhawk was destroyed by in a torpedo attack by loyalist Imperial starfighters spearheaded by Maarek Stele before it could close within cannon range of the interdictor. Its Imperial allies about the Protector were annihilated by loyalist forces soon after.
