Harpax
The Harpax was an Immobilizer 418 cruiser that served in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War. It was part of the task force that was dispatched to destroy the forces formerly under the command of the defector Admiral Harkov. It trapped his Victory-class Star Destroyer, Protector while it took on supplies.
The Harpax used its gravity well projectors to trap the Protector and prevent it from entering hyperspace, but the Protector called in reinforcements. Harkov's frigate Akaga and the Rebel MC40a light cruiser Warhawk entered to aid the ship. Harpax was outnumbered and outmaneuvered by enemy ships.
The interdictor cruiser then called in reinforcements of its own, which arrived in the form of the Star Destroyer Garrett with Darth Vader on board. All three Alliance warships were eliminated but the Harpax had sustained too much damage and was destroyed.
Behind the scenes
Although it is possible to save the Harpax in Star Wars: TIE Fighter, its destruction is confirmed in Maarek Stele's mission report in TIE Fighter: The Official Strategy Guide. The cruiser is misspelled "Harpox" once in the video game and three times on page XVII of the accompanying TIE Fighter Collector's CD-ROM: The Official Strategy Guide, although it is correctly spelt on other pages.
