Ulda Frav was a tropical Expansion Region planet located in the Hangshan sector. Located in widely explored space by 5000 BBY, by 3998 BBY the world was visited by both a group of Jedi who arbitrated a treaty there and the Nazzar Crown Prince Qrrrl Toq. On the planet, the Jedi informed Toq of his potential for becoming a Jedi, which he eventually did. Millennia later, Vlaydm Churhee served as a sharpshooter on Ulda Frav before forming the Churhee's Riflemen mercenary unit.

Description

Ulda Frav was a tropical terrestrial planet[3] located in the Ulda Frav system, a part of the Hangshan sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Expansion Region.[1] Between 5000 BBY and 3996 BBY, Ulda Frav was situated on a hyperlane that connected it to the Attahox and Belasco systems, but the hyperspace route had ceased to exist by the time of the Mandalorian Wars of 3976 BBY3960 BBY.[2]

History

On Ulda Frav, Qrrl Toq learned of his potential as a Jedi.

As early as 5000 BBY, Ulda Frav was a part of the area known as the "civilized galaxy" that had been widely explored by the Galactic Republic.[2] At some point before the Freedon Nadd Uprising[3] of 3998 BBY,[4] a group of several Jedi arbitrated a treaty on Ulda Frav. At that time, Crown Prince Qrrrl Toq of the isolated[3] Mid Rim[5] planet Nazzri also visited Ulda Frav as part of his self-imposed exile known as boqeri. The Nazzar approached the Jedi mediators and began to question them, but the latter cut the crown prince short, instead announcing to Toq that he possessed the potential to become a Jedi himself. In response, the Nazzar surprised the Jedi by stating that he had never heard of the Jedi Order. The Jedi requested that Toq join them on their return journey to the planet Ossus,[3] the Outer Rim Territories headquarters of the Jedi Order,[6] after which the crown prince became a Jedi himself.[3]

As part of the Krath Holy Crusade during the Great Sith War of 3996 BBY, the military forces of the Krath cult passed through the Ulda Frav system before confronting the forces of the Republic in the Attahox system.[2] Later, Vlaydm Churhee served as a sharpshooter in the Army of the First Line on Ulda Frav. In the decade following the end of the Clone Wars[7] in 19 BBY,[6] Churhee drew upon his heritage of serving on Ulda Frav to form the Churhee's Riflemen mercenary unit.[7]

Behind the scenes

Ulda Frav was first mentioned in the 1996 roleplaying game sourcebook Tales of the Jedi Companion, written by George R. Strayton and published by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Ulda Frav system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square P-11.[2]
