Tala Squadron was a Z-95 Headhunter squadron serving the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War fought between the Alliance and the Galactic Empire. The squadron's starfighters included Z-95-AF4 Headhunters[1] and Z-95t Headhunters.[2] By 4 ABY,[3] the squadron's members included Colonel Airen Cracken flying the Z-95t Headhunter Tala 1,[2] alongside a wingman,[4] Lieutenant Blount, who flew the Z-95t Headhunter Tala 2.[5]

Tala 1 was operationally assigned to support Alliance Special Forces commandos led by Crix Madine,[2] an Alliance general,[6] while its pilot, Cracken, often flew support missions for Madine's commando team.[7] Likewise, Tala 2 was equipped with a sophisticated sensor suite to monitor Imperial activity during Alliance commandos' operations.[5]

Behind the scenes

Tala Squadron was created by Decipher, Inc. in 2000, when the company's Star Wars Customizable Card Game's Death Star II Limited expansion set introduced the Z-95t Headhunters Tala 1[2] and Tala 2.[5] It was only in 2014 when the squadron's name was coined by the Z-95 Headhunter Expansion Pack for the Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game from Fantasy Flight Games.[1]
