"You'll never believe this, Luke… but I've no idea how she got here—!"
Han Solo, upon discovering Mira Volz aboard the Millennium Falcon on Randa[3]

Randa was a planet in the Outer Rim which hosted a small Rebel base during the Galactic Civil War. That led it to be targeted by Imperial Admiral Gaen Drommel, who decimated the Rebels on Randa during the war.

Description

Located in the Outer Rim's Kessel sector,[1] Randa sat along the hyperlane known as the Pabol Sleheyron.[2]

History

By 0 ABY, Randa had become home to a small Rebel base, which briefly served as a place of refuge for Battle of Yavin hero Luke Skywalker. There he was visited by friends Han Solo and Chewbacca. who stopped by while on a spice run to Kessel. But during the Millennium Falcon's visit to Randa, they realized that a young woman named Mira Volz had stowed away on the ship. Volz was a fugitive from the Empire, which had attempted to use her as a hostage to force her father, Renn Volz, to decimate Rebel-held planets with his Ionic Ring Ship. Volz convinced them to help her, and together they managed to stop the Empire's plans at Little Kessel.[3]

Randa's Rebel base eventually earned it the attention of the Empire, who sent Admiral Gaen Drommel to decimate the planet. His successful operation on Randa earned Drommel a sizable reward, in the form of the command of the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Guardian.[4]
