Noslo-19 slug rifle
The Noslo-19 slug rifle was a slugthrower rifle which was manufactured by Czerka Arms. Bane Malar, a Kessel-based bounty hunter who worked for the Galactic Empire, used a Noslo-19 with specialty ammo.
Description
Czerka Arms' Noslo-19 slug rifle was a slugthrower rifle[1] with a large stock and trigger that could be operated by a Humanoid's hands. The blaster rifle included long barrel and a small targeting scope. The Noslo-19 also had a removable shoulder strap attached to the stock and the barrel in front of the scope.[2] Colored black, the Noslo-19's stock, pistol grip, and handguard were brown in color.[1]
History
The Galactic Empire-affiliated bounty hunter Bane Malar favored a powerful Noslo-19 with specialty ammo. With Malar operating from Kessel, he used the customized slug rifle along with an enviro-suit, the latter to adopt to Kessel's thin atmosphere.[1] At some point after the Battle of Yavin, Malar was armed with the Noslo-19 when he fought a Sullustan, who he disarmed using telekinesis.[3]
At some point by 4 ABY,[4] Malar was on Tatooine at the palace of Jabba the Hutt,[1] a crime lord on the planet.[5] Malar had accepted a contract from the Black Sun crime syndicate to assassinate Jabba,[1] and took the Noslo-19 with him while he was at the palace.[3] While at the palace, Malar telepathically connected to the Jedi Luke Skywalker before the latter also arrived. Believing Skywalker would cause his death, Malar fled Tatooine and returned to Kessel. When in Kessel, Malar attempted to make amends with Black Sun by freeing one of their agents from the Empire's custody, although his failure to do so ended with him having to flee Kessel with a death mark on him.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Noslo-19 slug rifle was created for an illustration in the 1992 Heir to the Empire Sourcebook, written by Bill Slavicsek for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[6] In 2008, the weapon was first named when Edward M. Erdelac, writing as "caledre," wrote about Bane Malar for StarWars.com's Hyperspace feature "What's The Story?"[1]

Malar, Bane in the Databank (content now obsolete; backup link) specified that Malar was in the palace before Jedi Luke Skywalker arrived. The New Essential Chronology dates the latter's arrival to 4 ABY.
