Feeding Time
Feeding Time was a short story written by Peter M. Schweighofer, and it appeared in the "Command Crew" section of the The DarkStryder Campaign's Campaign Book. It depicted an incident when Moff Kentor Sarne attempted to goad his assassin, Kl'aal, into killing and eating a prisoner.
Plot
Moff Kentor Sarne watches over an observation cell containing a female prisoner and the Defel Kl'aal. The woman is unaware that Kl'aal is in the cell due to the Defel's ability to blend into the shadows. Sarne begins taunting Kl'aal, goading him into killing and eating the prisoner. The woman believes that Sarne is talking to her and hysterically asks why Sarne is doing this to her.
Kl'aal, quietly rebelling against Sarne because a trapped prisoner was not the same as killing from the hunt, decided to deprive himself. Rather than kill the woman, Kl'aal remained hidden in the shadows while Sarne continued to try and goad him into killing the prisoner.
