Destruction of Til
The destruction of Til was a cataclysm that occurred nearly a century before the Battle of Yavin. The star Til,[1] situated in the Unknown Regions' Til system,[2] exploded with little warning, destroying Tililix, a technologically advanced world that orbited it and was the homeworld of the sentient Tarro species.[1]
Only those Tarro who were off-world at the time, numbering merely 350 individuals, survived the destruction of Tililix,[2] and they did not adopt a new homeworld due to fear that such an undertaking would involve an undesirable bureaucratic process. Those Tarro who lived in other star systems speculated that the destruction of Til was possibly caused by a[1] secret[2] Tarro-constructed superweapon.[1]
Behind the scenes
The destruction of Til was created by C. Robert Carey and indirectly mentioned in Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies, a 1995 sourcebook for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] The proper name of the event was introduced by the 2003 Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Roleplaying Game sourcebook Ultimate Alien Anthology.[1]
