During the Galactic Civil War, a Rebel Alliance outpost was attacked by TIE/sa bombers during an Imperial torpedo run.

Prelude

The CR90 corvette Control along with three Alpha Squadron TIE/sa bombers were ordered to attack an Alliance to restore the Republic outpost. Alpha 1's objective was to order his wingmen to take out certain craft to speed up the process of destroying the outpost. The ships would then return to the Control.[1]

Battle

Alpha Squadron TIE bombers made their way towards the outpost. The outpost itself consisted of a group of Lambda-class T-4a shuttles, owned by Enouck group and Xarxis group, four Delta-class DX-9 stormtrooper transports, Axet group, two Utility Tugs, T-ST and T-SP, and two groups of Class-A cargo containers, Vic and Limi. If Alpha 1 was to run out of warheads, the transport Walker 1 would arrive to reload the craft if needed. Four assault gunboats would also serve as reinforcements if requested.[1]

During the attack, T-ST and T-SP attempted to board one of the containers, but were destroyed. As the ships fought on, two BTL Y-wing starfighters exited hyperspace and attacked the TIE bombers. Later, three RZ-1 A-wing interceptors also joined in. Transport group Axet would attack the corvette Control, but they were all destroyed by Alpha Squadron. After the entire outpost were destroyed, the TIE bombers retreated back to the Control.[1]

Aftermath

After this, three TIE bombers would conduct an attack on a Rebel storage yard with concussion missiles. This mission would also be featured in the Galactic Empire's combat training sequences so pilot's could test their skills with the torpedo warhead. Maarek Stele would eventually assume the role of Alpha 1 in the simulation during his combat training.[1]

Behind the scenes

The bombing of the Rebel outpost first appeared in the 1994 video game Star Wars: TIE Fighter directed by David Wessman. It is the third combat training mission for the TIE bomber, titled "Torpedo Run".

The player can optionally inspect the craft of the outpost to achieve bonus goals.[1]
