An assault company, otherwise known as a heavy weapons company, was a formation of the Imperial Army.
Organization
Assault companies were comprised of two assault platoons, two line platoons, along with command and support elements. The manpower of an assault company was between 152 to 170 soldiers depending on the configuration of the individual assault platoons, with command/support elements bringing the number up to between 180 to 198 in total. Line platoons assigned to an assault company were equipped with light repeating blasters.[1]
Assault companies could be augmented by the addition of a further two assault platoons, and two line platoons.[2]
