Accarrgm, also spelt as accarragm, was an extremely potent pale colored[2] liqueur[1] made using fungus[2] by the Wookiee species of the planet Kashyyyk. Like many Wookiee liqueurs, it was strong enough to inebriate a Human in minutes. By the year 2 BBY the smuggler Han Solo was aware of the potency of accarrgm and other Wookiee liqueurs, and so stuck to other drinks whilst at the wedding of his co-pilot Chewbacca, warning his companion Jarik Solo to do the same.[1] By 0 BBY accarrgm was made by chefs across the galaxy as it could be consumed by many species including Bothans, Ithorians, Mon Calamari, Rodians, Sullustans, Trandoshans, Twi'leks and Zabraks.[2]
Behind the scenes
Accarragm first appeared in the 1998 novel Rebel Dawn by A. C. Crispin. It then featured as a drink in the 2003 MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies made by Sony Online Entertainment. Initially the drink could only be crafted by players of the chef profession but after the "New-Game Enhancements" made in 2005 chefs were merged into the trader profession, with only domestic traders able to make the drink. It could be consumed by all playable species in the game. The drink had an entry in the 2008 The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, which misspelled its name as accarrgm.
