318 was a medical droid who worked at[1] a medical tent in Tyne's Horky, a mining town[2] located on the planet of the same name.[3] In the year 15 BBY,[4] it was requested over the tent's public address system that it report to the emergency sick bay.[1]

318 was first mentioned in "The Lost Prince," the fifth episode of the Star Wars Legends animated series Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO,[1] which originally aired on October 5, 1985.[5]

As The New Essential Chronology dates the events of A New Hope, including the Battle of Yavin, to the year 0 BBY, the events of "The Lost Prince" can therefore be dated to 15 BBY.
