During the Galactic Civil War, a battle over the mines took place on the planet Begeren.

The battle

The battle of Begeren took place sometime between the Battle of Toprawa and the Battle of Yavin,[1] during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire.[2]

The battle was fought over the Begeren's mines.[4] It resulted in a victory for the Rebel Alliance.[1][2]

Aftermath

News of the Rebel Alliance victory spread as far as Klatooine, giving hope to the native Klatooinians that they, too, might achieve freedom from their Hutt oppressors.[1]
