Townowi was a desert planet, home of the princes Oeta and Puck and their older sister Zara. It was threatened with conquest by the Galactic Empire.

Behind the scenes

Townowi only appears in the first draft of the original film, replacing Aquilae. In the second draft, it is renamed Utapau.

It was the source, with slight spelling changes, of the surname of the Towani family in the films Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.
