The Tantel armor was a model of armor used mainly prior to the Galactic Civil War.[3] It offered a high degree of protection against energy-based weapons like blasters but lesser protection from kinetic damage.[1] The complete armor set included helmet, breastplate, left and right biceps, left and right bracers, gloves, leggings and boots. It was available in several colors.[3]

Variants of this armor were the Rogue armor sometimes used by smugglers and the First Responder armor appreciated by medics.[4]

History

By the time of the Battle of Yavin, the Tantel armor was rarely used and considered an ancient type.[3]

In 4 ABY, Lando Calrissian, while using the alias "Tamtel Skreej," wore a set of this armor during his attempt to rescue Han Solo in Jabba's Palace.[2]
