Ionization buffer
The ionization buffer was a mechanism introduced by Kalibac Industries that protected a droid's central processing unit from most ionization attacks. The technology was a significant breakthrough for floater droids, which could not be weighted down with heavy protective armor plating.[1]
KI's 301-MAX Nightlight was equipped with an ionization buffer.[1]
