Hock picking vegetables in the field
"You seemed to take it well enough. Making me promise to kill you."
"Under certain circumstances. Not just because I insist you eat your vegetables."
Ben Skywalker and his father, having a humorous conversation[1]

Vegetables were a type of food grown on a plant. Some people liked to grow their own vegetables in a garden.[2][3] They could also be grown in hydroponic gardens. They were sometimes served alongside meat[4][5] or sauce.[6] They could also be part of other dishes, such as turnovers[7] stew,[8] and crepes.[9] Some forms of vegetables were known as root vegetables.[4] and soup.[6]

Many children did not like vegetables[10][11] and preferred unhealthy food.
