"Padawan, in my time I have made more mistakes than there are sandfleas on a wild bantha."
Obi-Wan Kenobi, to Ahsoka Tano[1]

Sandfleas, also known as sand fleas, were small creatures native to desert climates, including those on Tatooine and Nam Chorios. They often lived within the fur of nerfs, making it seem likely that they inhabited the planets of Alderaan and Kashyyyk as well. Larger species of sandflea supposedly made good pets.

Behind the scenes

Different sources have shown different spellings for the sandflea. In the short novel Galaxy of Fear: Eaten Alive, it is spelled as "Sand Flea", while in And the Band Played On: The Band's Tale, it is spelled as one word.
