The Lifesaver 1000 Reserve Hyperdrive was a Class 5.0 hyperdrive made by Sienar Fleet Systems. It was recommended for backup use only and needed to be overhauled after each use.[1] Contrary to its name, the Lifesaver 1000 was an unreliable and unsafe hyperdrive unit even while new. Fenig Nabon decided against such a drive for her ship, choosing instead to import from off-planet rather than install the "death wish."[2]
