==History==
When [[Grand Admiral/Legends|Grand Admiral]] [[Demetrius Zaarin|Zaarin]] betrayed the [[Galactic Empire/Legends|Empire]] and failed to [[Battle of Imperial Center|abduct]] [[Emperor/Legends|Emperor]] [[Palpatine/Legends|Palpatine]]. He had contingency plans to give him an edge in his [[Zaarin insurrection|war]] against the Empire. He attempted to [[Capture of Research|loot]] his [[XQ6 Platform]] ''[[Research]]'' but was defeated by loyalist forces lead by [[Colonel/Legends|Colonel]] [[Maarek Stele/Legends|Maarek Stele]], after his [[Defense of Research|first]] attempt to retake it failed, he decided to [[Evacuation of Research|destroy]] the platform. His efforts to destroy the TIE Defender technology was thwarted as ''Proto 11'' and its sister ship ''[[Proto 12]]'' escaped the station onto a [[BFF-1 bulk freighter/Legends|freighter]] ''[[Mharsup]]''. The freighter was to rendezvous with [[CR92a Assassin-class corvette|modified corvette]] group [[Hashim group|''Hashim'']]. However, the rendezvous point was [[Second Battle of Parmel|attacked]] by [[Alliance to Restore the Republic/Legends|Rebel]] forces but, Maarek Stele prevented their capture. They escaped to the next destination only to be [[Ambush on Hashim|ambushed]] and disabled by [[Rneekii]] [[Pirate/Legends|Pirates]]. After Stele drove of the pirates, the disabled corvettes called for support and both prototypes were to be picked up by [[Cargo ferry]] group [[Mssan]]. The ferries soon became attacked by Rebel forces again, but while Stele engaged the Rebel starfighters, another pirate faction known as the [[Nami]] lead by [[Crime lord/Legends|crime lord]] [[Ali Tarrak]] arrived close to the corvettes, and captured ''[[Hashim 1]]'' stealing ''Proto 11'' before Stele could stop them. Tarrak would then [[Battle of Kiilimaar|''acquire'']] the [[Unidentified TIE Defender chief scientist|Chief scientist]] to construct her own TIE Defenders and planned to proliferate the technology, in particular to the Rebels. Her plan was foiled by, then, [[Admiral/Legends|Admiral]] [[Mitth'raw'nuruodo/Legends|Thrawn]] who constructed a new starfighter to counter the Defender, the [[Missile Boat]].
