A heavy interceptor, the INT-66 was used by some independent systems for systems patrol and defense operations; private ownership of a INT-66 outside of the military was rare, though some individuals, such as licensed [[Bounty hunter/Legends|bounty hunters]] and other qualified individuals could obtain one.

While heavy interceptors as a whole were generally under-powered engine wise, their superior weapon and shield systems made them impressive gunships. Despite this, it wasn't uncommon to upgrade their engine systems for better output and maneuverability.

The [[Gorgon (INT-66)|''Gorgon'']] was an INT-66 whose engines had been upgraded from stock configuration by its owner, [[Daxtorn Lethos]].
