A '''hot box''' was a specialized container that was used by [[Spacer/Legends|spacers]] and [[Smuggler/Legends|smugglers]] to keep specialized cargo warm. The contained was insulated with a [[heating unit]] built into the base, and the unit had the ability to keep the interior at a constant temperature from warm to near-boiling. Excess steam was vented by pressure valves, and internal [[Power pack|power cells]] could maintain the interior temperature for up to fifty [[Standard hour/Legends|hours]]. The cells could be recharged by connecting them to a [[Starship/Legends|starship's]] [[Power generator/Legends|power generator]]. Hot boxes could also be used to heat things up, but was not good at cooking [[Foodstuff/Legends|food]] thoroughly.
