''Genue'' was due to travel from the prison planet [[Mytus VII]], aka [[Stars' End/Legends|Stars' End]], to [[Kashyyyk/Legends|Kashyyyk]] when it was boarded by some escaped [[Alliance to Restore the Republic/Legends|Rebel]] pilots, including [[Samuel Raider|Sam Raider]] and [[Toalagar]].

The prisoners' escape was quickly discovered and a [[Delta-class DX-9 stormtrooper transport|''Delta''-class DX-9 stormtrooper transport]] sent to board and search ships near Kashyyyk in an effort to recapture the prisoners.

The Rebel Alliance also learned of the escape and dispatched [[Captain/Legends|Captain]] [[Keyan Farlander/Legends|Keyan Farlander]] with [[Lieutenant/Legends|Lieutenant]] [[Cardacs]], a friend of Raider, in [[R-22 Spearhead starfighter|R-22 Spearheads]] to lead a rescue mission. Farlander destroyed the Imperial transport just before it boarded the ''Genue'' and the Rebel [[Lambda-class T-4a shuttle/Legends|''Lambda''-class shuttle]] ''[[Drago]]'' soon came and boarded the freighter in order to lead it to [[Hyperspace/Legends|hyperspace]], while the two R-22s repelled [[TIE/LN starfighter|TIE fighter]] assaults from the [[Imperial-class Star Destroyer/Legends|''Imperial''-class Star Destroyer]] [[Intrepid (Imperial I-class)|''Intrepid'']]. Cardacs was killed while protecting the boarding operation.

The escapees then informed the Alliance about [[Wookiee/Legends|Wookiee]] slaves gathered by the [[Galactic Empire/Legends|Empire]] to work for a [[DS-1 Orbital Battle Station/Legends|secret project]].
