He was discovered at an abandoned Alliance base in [[0 ABY/Legends|0 ABY]], by [[Tash Arranda/Legends|Tash Arranda]] and [[Shi'ido]] [[Mammon Hoole]]. Dr'aan appeared to be an exact double of the [[Alliance to Restore the Republic/Legends|Rebel]] naturalist [[Dr'uun Unnh/Legends|Dr'uun Unnh]]. It was later discovered that Dr'aan was a clone produced by the [[Galactic Empire/Legends|Empire]], using an experimental, yet sophisticated, [[Cloning/Legends|cloning]] technique.
