The '''Declaration of a New Republic''' was a document signed one [[Standard month/Legends|month]] after the [[Battle of Endor/Legends|Battle of Endor]] by the eight leaders of the [[Alliance of Free Planets]], establishing the [[New Republic/Legends|New Republic]]. It spelled out to the public at large the government system and ideals of freedom, [[Democracy/Legends|democracy]], and justice that the Alliance hoped to return to [[The galaxy/Legends|the galaxy]].
