"A hundred years ago an aristocrat named Baron Yorn left Coruscant and came here with some followers."
―A stormtrooper to another stormtrooper[src]

Baron Yorn was a male noble from the[1] planet[2] Coruscant. According to the legend,[1] around 100 BBY,[3] Yorn brought several followers to the moon of Kalakar Six[1] in the Dromund system.[4] The moon's dark side nature attracted the baron and his entourage, who set up a fortress with the intent to conduct experiments there. However, when a supply ship arrived on the moon, the crew noted that everyone there had vanished, except for Yorn, who had gone mad, tearing out his own eyes and tongue.[1]

In 0 BBY,[3] Darth Vader and two stormtroopers came to his long-abandoned fortress to look for the Death Star plans. A stormtrooper told the other fellow stormtrooper about Yorn's legend.[1]

Behind the scenes

Yorn was mentioned in the comic story "Resurrection," published in the ninth issue of the Star Wars Tales comic series by Dark Horse Comics[1] on October 10, 2001.[5] The comic was written by Ron Marz.[1]

  3. 3.0 3.1 The events of "Resurrection" take place before the Battle of Yavin, which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 BBY, and after the theft of the Death Star plans by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, which took place during the Battle of Toprawa per Jedi Dawn. Since the novel Death Star establishes that the latter battle took place following the attack on the first Death Star, which The Essential Guide to Warfare in turn dates to 0 BBY, the Battle of Toprawa must have also occured in 0 BBY, meaning the events of "Resurrection" are set in that year, as well. Since "Resurrection" states that the fortress was built 100 years before the events of the comic, it must have been built around 100 BBY.
