- "Now, the central issue, Captain Solo—please stop shushing me, sir; I will be heard! At issue are two thousand five hundred credits owed Vinda and D'rag, Starshipwrights. Unless you're prepared to make payment, I am empowered to attach and take possession of your ship, which, by the way, appears to have had her marking altered in illegal fashion."
- ―Odumin, to Han Solo
Vinda was a starshipwright and the co-owner of Starshipwrights and Aerospace Engineers Incorporated, a corporation based on the planet Oslumpex V, along with his partner D'rag. In 2 BBY, Corellian smuggler Han Solo owed them 2,500 credits for their work on his starship, the Millennium Falcon. Taking advantage of this knowledge, the Corporate Sector Authority executive Odumin—posing as a skip tracer called "Spray," looking to repossess the vessel for Vinda and D'rag—got close to Solo and his Wookiee partner Chewbacca in his investigation of a slaving ring in the Corporate Sector.[1]
Behind the scenes
Vinda was first mentioned in Han Solo's Revenge, a novel written by Brian Daley and released in 1979.[1]
