Vickerman

Vickerman was a term used by at least one Mimbanite beggar to address miners when soliciting them for alcoholic beverages.

Behind the scenes

Considering that the Mimbanite beggar spoke with a lisp, it is possible that the beggar may have intended to address the miner in some approximation of "liquor man."
