Varic was a terrestrial celestial body[3] situated in the Varic system, a part of the Chorlian sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] Its climate featured significant sand storms, which affected the skin complexion of the Trandoshan mercenary Nakaron upon his visit to the astronomical object at some point by the time of the New Republic. The effect of the Varic sand storms on Nakaron was eventually noted by the New Republic General Airen Cracken in an entry of the datafile Wanted by Cracken[3]—the initial version of which was published in 7 ABY[4]—dedicated to the Trandoshan.[3]
Behind the scenes
Varic was mentioned in the "Wanted by Cracken" segment of the November 1994 fourth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal. The segment was authored by C. Robert Carey.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Varic system, and therefore Varic itself, in grid square S-4.[2]
