Unified Hjaff government
The government of the planet Hjaff was located in the Colonies region of the galaxy.
History
After a long period of these various wars, the Tarc nations eventually ceased to fight one another and integrated into a single government, lead by a leader named the Keddek and a body of three continental leaders,[1] and began space exploration in the surrounding systems,[1] and colonized twenty systems.[2] The Tarc were horrified to discover alien life, but they interpreted such outsiders as a threat and immediately retreated and ceased all space exploration, leaving their colonized systems as a buffer between them and the rest of the galaxy.[1]
A war broke out with the Galactic Empire soon after the two came into first contact and led their navy, known as the Ivlacav Gourn, to attack Imperial vessels entering Tarc-controlled space. This led to a number of skirmishes in all of which the Tarc were victorious.[1]
Organization
Government
It consisted of the unified governments of the independent nations that made up the planet prior to the unified governments formation. The government was isolationist and was led by an elected leader called the Keddek and three elected continental leaders who advised him. The Keddek was required to obey the Hjaff constitution. The constitution also provided for the three continental leaders to strip the Keddek of their position.[1]
Military
The Ivlacav Gourn was the military arm of the Tarc species. It was used to protect the Tarc territories from the encroaches of galactic culture, perceived by the Tarc as corrupting.[1]
