A winged creature with reptavian characteristics had a long neck, horned head, and red wings. Two of these creatures could be found in the caverns below Jabba's Palace on Tatooine.[1].
Behind the scenes
An image often mistaken to be the rancor from Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi battling a krayt dragon was in reality, a joke from the crew of ILM. They placed a model of one of the dragons from the film Dragonslayer in the arms of the rancor model and took a photo. The photo was included in the book Star Wars: Chronicles.[2]
Creatures based on this dragon were included in Richard Chasemore's artwork of Jabba's Palace for Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy, based on what Chasemore called a "cut scene."[3]
