A Rebel ensign served in the Alliance to Restore the Republic as a communications officer in the secret base on Yavin 4 in 0 ABY. When Luke Skywalker cut off all communications between his ship and the Rebel base, Leia Organa ordered the ensign to boost the receiving power. The ensign replied that that would be useless because Skywalker had stopped sending and that they had lost him. Leia had him stop sending lest the signal be detected by the Empire.
