Unidentified Jerrilek species
Archaeologists discovered evidence that in approximately 1,000,000 BBY an intelligent, aquatic species inhabited Jerrilek,[1] a planet located on the Koros Trunk Line of the Deep Core.[2] All that remained of the species by the time of the Battle of Yavin were ruined cities in the depths of the planet's oceans.[1] Due to the ruins, rumors spread about the possibility of the species.[3]
Beind the scenes
This species was created by James L. Cambias as part of the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game adventure "Loyalties", which was published in the Star Wars Adventure Journal 4 in 1994. The species fleshed out the planet profile but did not feature in the adventure.[1] Cambias did suggest several ideas for further adventures on Jerrilek, which included suggestions that the species was not necessarily extinct, had been students of the Force or that their ruins contained advanced technological devices.[4] The species was also mentioned in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, published in 2008.
