Trooper was a rank used in various armies, including the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances and the Galactic Empire. The Imperial Army troopers were the standard infantry of the Imperial Army.
The rank of Trooper was used in both the Alliance Army and Alliance Special Forces, and was equivalent to the rank of Deckman in the Alliance Fleet. Troopers could be promoted to the rank of Senior Trooper.[1]
Trooper was sometimes used as a generic term to refer to Imperial stormtroopers or other types of soldiers.[2]
