Transition

The Transition was part of the Rakaan lifecycle, during which individual Rakaans moved from one of the five unique life phases—child, female, neuter, male, and andro—to another. During the Transition, the sexual characteristics of the existing sex disappear and were replaced by the ones from the new sex. The process took place over the course of two to three weeks, during which the Rakaans became violent and ravenously hungry.
