The Promotion of Lieutenant Veers
"The Promotion of Lieutenant Veers" is a short narrative story published in The Star Wars Sourcebook in 1987. It tells the story of Lieutenant Maximilian Veers' actions on Culroon III. It was reprinted in the second edition of the book in 1994.
Plot summary
Lieutenant Maximilian Veers watches a ceremony on Culroon III intended to establish Imperial dominance over the planet. The ceremony, which Veers considered to be a bad idea based on his understanding of the local natives, is being conducted by General Irrv and the Culroon leader Kloff. Veers' fears are validated when Kloff kills General Irrv's aide during the ceremony and attacks the Imperial delegation. Using his All Terrain Armored Transport, Veers successfully rescues the Imperial delegation and earns a promotion to major.[1]
