The Galactic Encyclopedia

The Galactic Encyclopedia was an encyclopedia that documented nearly every major fact in the known universe. The book included an entry on lightsabers, which mentioned that Jedi could make synthetic lightsaber crystals using a few basic elements and the power of the Force.

Research for the project started shortly after the Ruusan campaign, though it was curtailed with the formation of the Galactic Empire.
