The Backup Plan was a short narrative written by Peter M. Schweighofer and published in the Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook.

Plot summary

Jix, an Imperial spy, left Darth Vader in the Dark Lord of the Sith's private training chambers. Vader had just given Jix orders regarding a mission to Tatooine. Vader then discussed a contingency plan with Noghri bodyguard Kohvrekhar, in which the Noghri and his team would disguise themselves as Jawas and protect Luke Skywalker in the case that Jix's mission failed.
