This template is to be used for citing articles on Wizards.com.

Usage

Copy the template code below and paste it into the appropriate place in an article. Fill in the required fields plus as many of the optional fields as necessary and remove any that you don't use.

Required parameters

|url= The URL of the web page, minus http://wizards.com/.
|text= Name of the article being cited (formatted name if |int= parameter is used).
For archive options, see Backup links below.

Optional parameters

|subdomain= If the URL contains a subdomain of wizards.com other than www, such as https://store.wizards.com, the subdomain can be specified for example, |subdomain=store. Default is blank if left empty.
|int= Name of the Wookieepedia article corresponding to the Wizards.com article being cited.
|noquotes= Put 1 or yes here to omit the automatic placing of the article title in double quotes.

Unneccesary parameters

|nolive= As the original online content is no longer available, the template will automatically add "content now obsolete;" to the citation, and therefore does NOT require the use of "|nolive=1" like with other citation templates.

Backup links

Instructions for providing a backup link

In accordance with our Sourcing policy, all links to external sites must include a link to a backup version, preferably using Internet Archive. Instances that do not include one of the following parameters will result in the page being placed in the maintenance category. Please only use one of the following parameters.

This parameter uses the timestamp feature of Internet Archive. The URL supplied earlier in the template, along with archivedate, will provide a link to Internet Archive.
|archiveurl=https://archive.is/EfD8P
If Internet Archive does not work for the link in question, you can use archiveurl to provide a full URL to another backup website, such as archive.is.

If none of the archiving sites work, then provide a link to a screenshot of the page, uploaded to Wookieepedia, as per Wookieepedia:Mofferences/June 29, 2014.
|nobackup=1
If no backup link can be found for content that is no longer available, this parameter can be used. If the content is still available, you can screenshot and upload it to Wookieepedia instead.
|nolive=1
If the original content is no longer available, this parameter can be used, which will make the template add "content now obsolete;" to the citation. This may also mean a backup link can no longer be provided, and therefore may be used as well as |nobackup=1. Some citation templates such as {{SWArchive}} link to older content that is known to be no longer available, and therefore automatically default to |nolive=1 without the need to add the parameter manually.

Note that for citation templates using a central repository (/Archive subpage), archivedate values must be added to the repository, and not on the individual instance of those templates.
