Adds the username of the registered user viewing the page into the page, so that with the code:

{{USERNAME}} is the best. [[Special:MyPage|{{USERNAME}}'s userpage is good too]].

The following will be displayed:

<insert name here> is the best. <insert name here>'s userpage is good too.

The user reading will always see a compliment directed toward them and their userpage, no matter who they are.

The username replacement doesn't work for unregistered users, so instead they see a default value of "<insert name here>". To change this default, use the first parameter. For unregistered users, {{USERNAME|This user}} will display as "This user", and for registered users it will display as their username.

Use this template sparingly. Misuse of it (including, but not limited to, adding "{{USERNAME}} is stupid" to pages) may result in a ban.
