Usage

Copy the template code below and paste it into the appropriate place in an article. Fill in the required fields plus as many of the optional fields as necessary and remove any that you don't use.

Replace the "entry number" and "entry name" with the appropriate information.

Required parameters

• |blogurl= URL of the web page, minus the domain name (https://blogs.starwars.com/ or https://www.starwars.com/)
• |blogentry= ONLY REQUIRED FOR https://blogs.starwars.com ENTRIES. Remaining portion of the URL, minus the domain name and the above blogurl (https://blogs.starwars.com/<blogurl>/)
• |text= Name of the blog post being cited.
• |blog= Name of the author's blog being cited.
• |author= Name of the author of the blog post being cited.
• For archive options, see Backup links below.

Optional parameters

• |listing= If linking to just the blog, use |listing=true
• |official= If linking to the old official Star Wars Blog, use |official=true
• |int= If an official Star Wars Blog post has its own Wookieepedia article, use the "int" parameter to link to that article. For example, |int=Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut.
• |nolive= If the original online content is no longer available, use of "|nolive=1".

A backup link can be included with the |archiveurl= parameter.

Backup links

Instructions for providing a backup link In accordance with our Sourcing policy, all links to external sites must include a link to a backup version, preferably using Internet Archive. Instances that do not include one of the following parameters will result in the page being placed in the maintenance category. Please only use one of the following parameters. |archivedate=20250520232620 This parameter uses the timestamp feature of Internet Archive. The URL supplied earlier in the template, along with archivedate, will provide a link to Internet Archive. |archiveurl=https://archive.is/EfD8P If Internet Archive does not work for the link in question, you can use archiveurl to provide a full URL to another backup website, such as archive.is. |archivefile=File:Jon_Favreau_The_Mandalorian.png If none of the archiving sites work, then provide a link to a screenshot of the page, uploaded to Wookieepedia, as per Wookieepedia:Mofferences/June 29, 2014. |nobackup=1 If no backup link can be found for content that is no longer available, this parameter can be used. If the content is still available, you can screenshot and upload it to Wookieepedia instead. |nolive=1 If the original content is no longer available, this parameter can be used, which will make the template add "content now obsolete;" to the citation. This may also mean a backup link can no longer be provided, and therefore may be used as well as |nobackup=1. Some citation templates such as {{SWArchive}} link to older content that is known to be no longer available, and therefore automatically default to |nolive=1 without the need to add the parameter manually. Note that for citation templates using a central repository (/Archive subpage), archivedate values must be added to the repository, and not on the individual instance of those templates.
