"Sweet Lady from Alderaan" was a song associated with the planet Alderaan.[1] In 5 ABY,[2] the New Republic pilot Han Solo hosted a housewarming party in his sky house on the planet Bespin, where the guest of honor was the Alderaanian Princess Leia Organa. After the two danced until they were out of breath and laughing, Solo asked the band to play "Sweet Lady from Alderaan," hoping to make Organa happy. Instead, the song brought tears to her eyes, as it reminded her of the Destruction of Alderaan by the Galactic Empire.[1]
Behind the scenes
"Sweet Lady from Alderaan" appeared in Zorba the Hutt's Revenge, a 1992 junior novel and the second entry in the Jedi Prince series by Paul and Hollace Davids.[1]
