Spacefaring benefactors
The "spacefaring benefactors" were a mysterious species who helped the inabitants of seventeen water planets relocate to Iskalon when their worlds were hit by a series of disasters. Their relocating of aquatic species led to the creation of the Iskalonian society, an example of cultural fusion.[1]
The benefactors' identity remained a mystery at least until the Galactic Civil War, when the Shi'ido anthropologist Mammon Hoole led an expedition to the ruins of the seventeen species, in hopes of discovering the nature of the cataclysms and the identity of the benevolent spacers.[1]
Behind the scenes
The spacefaring benefactors were mentioned in "The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Marvel Series", an article published in the first issue of the Star Wars Gamer magazine. They fit the stereotype of the "ancient vanished precursors", but their relations to the Celestials or the Rakata, if any, have never been revealed.
