Sniper airspeeder
The Sniper airspeeder was a repulsorcraft employed by the Galactic Empire shortly after the Battle of Endor.
It was very poorly defended, focusing more on speed and attack power. The sniper could reach speeds of up to six hundred kilometers per hour, as a result of the ion afterburner fitted just behind the cockpit.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Sniper airspeeder was based on a concept for the "Imperial Sniper Fighter" vehicle that would have been part of a proposed but ultimately rejected extension of Kenner's Star Wars toy line, The Epic Continues.[2] It is different than the similarly-named toy that Kenner did produce, the Imperial Sniper.[3] The speeder and other toy concepts were added to the Legends continuity in "The Battle of Cadinth" story and roleplaying game article from Star Wars Galaxy Magazine 2.[1]
